Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation is a world leader in the design and
manufacture of advanced helicopters for commercial, industrial and
military uses. Sikorsky helicopters are used by all five branches of
the United States armed forces, along with military services and
commercial operators in more than 40 nations. Based in Stratford,
Connecticut, USA, Sikorsky has outlying facilities in other
Connecticut locations as well as in Florida and Alabama.
Manage all employee and labor relations issues and programs for a
specific client organization. Manage Labor Relations issues as they
relate to Collective Bargaining Agreements within a Business Unit.
Serve as a liaison between line supervision and Industrial Relations
function. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with
bargaining unit workforce, local management and Union officials.
Assist in preparation for contact negotiations. Participate in
contractual obligations such as grievance procedure, arbitration
hearings, dispute resolution, and FMLA requests. Staff organization
to approved headcount levels, including oversight and processing of
job offers and new hire onboarding. Support salaried employee
issues, as necessary within a Business Unit.
BA/BS degree in a technical field, with 5+ years of experience in a
Union shop. MA/MS/MBA degree with 3+ years of experience in a Union
shop. JD/Industrial Labor Relations degree a plus.
Successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in dispute
resolution. In addition, demonstrated strengths in competencies such
as Strategic Leadership, Customer Focus, Business Judgment,
Communication Skills and Focus on Results. 3 to 5 years experience
working in a Union environment in either an HR or supervisory
capacity.
Position resides in Troy Alabama and reports to the Troy, AL General
Manager. Strong verbal, written, skills required, as well as strong
familiarity in using Microsoft Office desktop applications.
