Serve
as an appointed member of the Chapter Board of Directors as an
educational liaison, planning, monitoring and evaluation chapter
activities impacting the education arena and professional
development of chapter members. Coordinate the annual conference
for the chapter.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
1.
Serve as advocate and program coordinator for education at chapter
activities and other professional meetings and seminars.
2.
Select the site/location for the chapter’s annual conference and
meet with site personnel about services, etc.
3.
Negotiate contracts with site personnel, vendors, hotels, caterers,
etc.
4.
Contact and negotiate with potential sponsors for conference. (This
may be accomplished through the development of a committee).
5.
Develop a timeline and budget for the conference.
6.
Contact and schedule speaker(s) for seminar.
7.
Write articles for newsletter and create appropriate brochure
advertising the conference.
8.
Promote the conference to chapter members, state council members,
and at-large members as well as any other possible attendees.
Obtain mailing lists from chambers of commerce, other associations,
etc.
9.
Review final preparations to assure that conference runs smoothly.
10.
Report on education initiatives, seminar planning, and networking
developments to the chapter. Provide leadership to the chapter on
education issues.
11.
Provide special recognition for chapter members and for local
programs that promote the betterment of the workforce through
educational process.
12.
Secure at least one ad for the upcoming year’s roster.
13.
Participate in the development and implementation of short-term and
long-term strategy planning for the chapter.
14.
Attend monthly Executive Board meetings.
15.
Represent the chapter in the Human Resource community.
