Provide leadership to the board and local membership, consistent
with state, area, and national Society policy, strategies and
objectives. Responsible for operating the chapter effectively so
that the needs of the members are met.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
1.
Set reasonable goals for the year, as President for the local
chapter, through short-term and long-term strategic planning with
the Executive Board of Directors.
2.
Communicate goals, policies, programs, and issues to membership.
3.
Represent State Council to local chapter leaders and membership.
4.
Conduct the business of the chapter in accordance with the chapter
bylaws and serve as chairperson of the chapter’s Board of Directors.
Facilitate accomplishment of chapter mission.
5.
Serve as Chair of all chapter Board of Director and chapter
meetings:

Report to SHRM-Montgomery Board of Directors, State Council, SHRM
(National), and SHRM-Montgomery membership
·
Serve as voting member of State Council, attend and participate in
State Council meetings
·
Serve as adhoc member of all standing committees.
6.
Preside over activities of all officers and directors, as well as
standing committees, to ensure the accomplishment of chapter goals,
objectives, and strategies.
7.
Monitor use, accounting and handling of chapter funds.
8.
Greet all guests at monthly membership meetings and ensure each new
member is properly introduced at membership meetings.
9.
Maintain National SHRM Membership.
10.
Take necessary action to achieve Superior Merit Award for chapter.
11.
Secure at least one ad for the upcoming year’s roster.
12.
Represent the chapter in the Human Resource community.
