Provide written records and communications
with chapter members, State Council, and SHRM headquarters.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
1.
Facilitate assemblage and publication of chapter newsletter.
·Notify
members of upcoming monthly meetings, including topic, date,
location, time, speaker, title, company, and qualifications (if
available).
·Elicit
articles from members, attorneys, legislators, organizations, or
other HR related vehicles for publication in newsletter.
·Review
all articles for appropriateness, length, and suitability. Contact
President (or Vice President) for concurrence on questionable
issues.
·E-Mail
newsletter (around two weeks before each monthly meeting) to all
current chapter members, SHRM State Council Members, and Area II
SHRM Director, as well as any other chapter connections. (Mail out
hard copy to those without E-Mail capability).
·
Recognize chapter members who have successfully achieved PHR or SPHR
certification.
2.
Maintain current and up to date chapter mailing list.
·Make
set(s) of labels of chapter members at request of President (or
other Executive Board Members) for distribution to Board approved
entities.
·
Include radical changes to individual member information in
newsletters (i.e. new position and/or company).
3.Take
minutes at monthly Executive Board Meetings. (This duty may be
delegated to Board Member at Large as needed).
·
Maintain record of attendance and prepare minutes of officers’ and
directors’ discussions at meetings.
·Submit
written copies to all Executive Board Members at following meeting
for concurrence.
·
Maintain prior years’ secretarial data (keep the BOX secure for
historical preservation).
4.
Transmit all necessary chapter election information to the
membership. Also forward results to SHRM headquarters and to the
SHRM State Council president and/or secretary. (If officers or
other change(s) to same entities as well as notify membership.
5.Handle
correspondence to SHRM (national headquarters) or SHRM State
Council, as well as any other chapter business, as requested by
President (or Vice President).
6.Secure
at least one ad for the upcoming year’s roster.
7.
Participate in the development and implementation of short-term and
long-term strategy planning for the chapter.
8.Attend
monthly Executive Board meetings.
9.
Represent the chapter in the Human Resource community.
