STUDENT CHAPTER ADVISOR

 Position Overview: 

Coordinate student chapter involvement with the professional chapter.  Manager the scholarship, internship, and community outreach programs. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

1.             Contact student chapters and leaders.
 

·               Encourage student chapter leaders to attend and participate in professional chapter activities.

·               Forward notice of professional chapter activities to student chapters.

·               Oversee the internship program and encourage professional chapter members and students to participate.

·               Assist HR graduates in job placement.
 

2.             Report to the Board of Directors on student chapter needs, programs, and recommendations.
 

·               Determine and recommend levels of financial support needed to enable maximization of resources.

·               Communicate professional chapter/student chapter linkages to State Council student chapter advisor(s).

·               Recommend student chapter projects to be supported by the professional chapter.
 

3.             Chair scholarship committee.
 

·               Promote the scholarship program to local colleges and universities.

·               Ensure distribution and retrieval of scholarship applications in a timely manner.

·               Facilitate selection by the committee of qualified scholarship recipient.

·               Schedule presentation of scholarship to recipient at an appropriate professional chapter meeting.

·               Pursue public relations exposure for scholarship recipient.

·               Make recommendations on changes to scholarship program.
 

4.             Secure at least one ad for the upcoming year’s roster.

5.             Participate in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term strategy planning for the chapter.
 

6.             Attend monthly Executive Board meetings.
 

7.             Represent the chapter in the Human Resource community.
 

8.             All other duties as assigned.
