VICE PRESIDENT PROGRAMS

 Position Overview:         

Assist the president in overseeing all activities of the chapter.  In the absence of the President, perform all the presidential responsibilities.  Coordinate and schedule quality monthly programs for the chapter membership.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.             Facilitate programs for current year via recommendations from Program committee, President, Board, and chapter membership.

 

2.             Schedule locations and select menus for monthly meetings.

 

3.             Select topic and recommend to Board of Directors.

 

4.             Communicate program information to the Board of Directors at monthly meetings.  Give written communication to the President and to the secretary for newsletter describing the monthly program, including accurate topics, dates and times, as well as the speaker’s name, title, company and qualifications.  Be sure to call the secretary if any last minute changes have to be made before the newsletter is sent to the membership.

 

5.             Contact, solicit, and schedule speakers who possess the necessary qualifications to present human resource topics as pertinent to the membership.

 

6.             Chair the Program Committee to select topics and speakers in order to provide information on topics of broad interest to chapter members.

 

7.             Recruit members to serve on Committee.

 

8.             Upon request, assist all officers in performing their responsibilities.

 

9.             Attend (and preside, if necessary) monthly Executive Board and chapter meetings.

 

10.        Secure at least one ad for the upcoming year’s roster.

 

11.        Participate in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term strategy planning for the chapter.

 

12.        Review final preparations for meetings to assure that meetings are run smoothly.

·               Greet the speaker at meetings and make sure the speaker feels welcome.

·               Introduce the speaker prior to the presentation.

·               Ask for questions (if the speaker has not done so).

·               Thank the speaker after the presentation and present token of appreciation.

·               Collect assessment forms from the membership and draw for door prize.

·               Ensure that the HR flag is posted at every chapter meeting.

·               Have sign in sheet(s) of scheduled participants at each monthly meeting.

·               Collect appropriate guest fees.

 

13.        Represent the chapter in Human Resource community.

 

14.        All other duties as assigned.
